Overview

Located on the vibrant Corso Como in Milan, Pizzeria di Porta Garibaldi - MILANO offers an authentic slice of Italian culinary tradition. This pizzeria captivates its visitors with flavorful, well-executed dishes that represent some of Italy’s most beloved classics, especially their pizza heritage.

The highlight here is undoubtedly their Pizza Al Trancio, with the Margherita slice drawing consistent praise for its perfectly balanced flavors. The dough strikes a beautiful harmony between fluffiness and a subtly crunchy crust, filling the mouth with every bite. For those seeking more complexity, the spicy salami or Prosciutto Crudo Di Parma varieties provide a savory richness that complements the base dough brilliantly.

Beyond pizza, the menu dives into Milanese specialties such as the Risotto Alla Milanese and time-honored pasta dishes like Spaghetti Alla Carbonara and Lasagna Alla Bolognese. These selections are prepared with attention to tradition, meeting both expectations of locals and curious visitors. Appetizers like Bruschetta Al Pomodoro deliver fresh, simple flavors that awaken the palate, inviting diners to explore more.

The dining experience is enhanced by the setting — situated along a charming pedestrian street lined by Milan’s classic architecture and bustling with life. The space comfortably accommodates both casual diners and those celebrating special moments, offering indoor and outdoor seating. Its lively yet unpretentious atmosphere appeals equally to both local regulars and travelers seeking genuine Italian cuisine in a welcoming environment.

Service is a standout aspect here. Attentive and friendly staff, exemplified by hosts like Ana and Ali, contribute to a warm and relaxed experience. They bring a level of care and genuine hospitality that makes guests feel valued, effortlessly adding to the meal’s enjoyment.

The beverage selection complements the food with refreshing options like Estathè, classic sodas, and a modest but thoughtfully chosen range of local white wines. For those who appreciate a good drink alongside their meal, the house wine and cocktails like the Hugo spritz are well-reviewed companions.

Visitors repeatedly commend the pizzeria for delivering quality food without pretense — a place where tradition, flavor, and a sense of place merge naturally. Whether stopping by for a quick slice or settling in for a relaxed dinner, Pizzeria di Porta Garibaldi delivers Milan’s flavors with authenticity and care. Its accessibility, combined with a genuine and lively atmosphere, makes it ideal for locals craving a reliable meal and tourists eager to savor the city’s culinary heart.

Solid pizzeria with fair value for money. Waiters efficient and friendly, restaurant clean and neat. Quality of food surprisingly good, especially the bruschettas and the carbonara were both traditionally prepared and seasoned to perfection. Solid Milano dine experience if you don’t seek the extraordinary. Will come again. Thank you.

WOW. We definitely finished our Italy trip off with the best restaurant yet by stopping here for our final dinner in town. We started with a slice of Margherita pizza to split, so they kindly cut it for us. BEST pizza in Italy. (Best pizza I have had in general). Then we got the cheese and fruit compote platter - delicious. I forgot to grab a photo - but it was Parmesan and Brie cheese and the freshest compote we had ever had (we asked for no bleu cheese, which normally comes on it). Also came with some bread. Then we finished our meal by splitting a tomato/basil sauce gnocchi plate. Note that the photo of the gnocchi is only half of the portion because they were kind and split the meal into two plates for us. We hoped to have room for desert but this was already plenty for the two of us! I also enjoyed a Hugo spritz and a glass of house red wine which were both good. My mom enjoyed 2 screwdrivers. All of this and the bill was around €60. Amazing. We enjoyed our meal outside in the fresh air as well.

If you're looking for a place to eat: questo posto è fantastico. This was an incredible find...so much so that we returned here everyday for six days. I visit here every time I'm in Milan. (Of course we checked out other restaurants around the city, but when you find something that works, something this good, and something this close to where you're staying, you go back to it for more.) The price range of the food is a great deal for what you get. The service was fantastic. Ana and Ali are friendly, attentive, and helpful. The food is more than just satisfying. The lasagna alla bolognese was delicious. The spaghetti alla bolognese will make you happy. The pizza slices are the best. The margherita is cheesy and the dough is fluffy...it fills your entire mouth. The crust can sometimes be crunchy, which is a nice contrast to the chewiness. If you are still hungry after one slice, get a second one. The piccante salami is also a banger. They serve house wine in either a glass, half liter, or a bottle. Order a limoncello. They also have a beer on tap from Sardinia (which was just okay). For dessert, they have tiramisu, creme brulee, chocolate cake, and fagottino di mele caldo with gelato. These are highly rated. The atmosphere is great....it's Corso Como. The restaurant is situated along a pedestrian road between beautiful buildings and near a fountain. There are other restaurants nearby that are similarly priced or higher. There is a lot of outdoor and indoor seating, and the wait is never too long. On one of the nights, a midnight run club came running through the street. It made for some nice entertainment. My favorite memories of visiting Milano include reuniting with a friend here and having pizza and wine and beers. One night in particular stands out: I attended a friend's wedding in Pavia, where I had a great time. The food, wine, and dancing were fun, but I had to make my way back to Milano that night. After the wedding, I met another friend at Navigli Craft Beer for a few beers. It was late, I was hungry, and I knew we could either eat in Navigli or nearer to where I was staying. Riding the metro with an empty stomach, but looking forward to a meal is a better option than getting on a metro exhausted and full from eating, and just wanting to be home. So we took the metro up to Garibaldi FS and went to a place we trusted, a place where the food was good, and a place that we enjoyed: Pizzeria di Porta Garibaldi. The restaurant is open until very late, and Ali seated us. That late at night, there are a bit more seating options with open tables, and he let us have our choice. He was kind enough to correct our Italian, teaching us that you don't say "buongiorno" at night. He is attentive and is always making sure patrons are happy, drinks are filled, and tables are cleaned. Incredible customer service and what you want if you owned the restaurant: someone trying to get more business. The area is a vibe, the food is excellent, and the wait staff attentive to make sure you have a great experience. If you're in the area or are looking to try great pizza, make your way here. I highly recommend this place without any hesitation.
